This week, the show had the privilege of traveling to Sedalia for the Missouri State Fair. There, we met with our special guest: the Director of the very department which is responsible for the creation of the fair, the Department of Agriculture, Chris Chinn.
Growing up in the small town of Shelbina in Shelby County, Missouri, Chinn was always surrounded by agriculture and the farming life. After attending Truman College, marrying her now husband, and then moving to Clarence, Missouri, Chinn originally started her career in the banking industry. However, it wasn’t until her and her husband’s farm got big enough to support the family when she became fully dedicated to the agriculture life. Director Chinn shared with Scott her trials and tribulations of being a mother, a farmer, and the director of a state government department on top of it all.
