This week, the show traveled to Fulton, MO; county seat of Callaway County. We had a panel of in-depth experts, knowledgeable from county government to the area’s history, featuring State Representative Travis Fitzwater, Callaway County Commissioner Gary Jungerman, Westminster College’s Rob Crouse and Callaway County’s historian (and Westminster alumnus) Joe Holt.
The county is also know as the “Kingdom of Callaway” historically, due to its unique Civil War involvement, the county has a rich history in relation to Missouri, as well as nationally and internationally. Recording the show in the National Churchill Museum, we heard the stories of Churchill’s famous “Iron Curtain” speech, as well as the presidents the county has hosted.
Driving through the flourishing city of Fulton, it seems that Callaway County is still looking to have a place in history for years to come. Keep an eye on this Missouri county!
